Defined in War Department radios R7704 to UK and 6434 to MTO is policy regarding the transfer of personnel between ETO and MTO. (Excluding general officers) this will include the reassignment of officer pers now on temporary duty between the theaters as authenticated in our cable 6991 to NATOUSA. With the exception of the personal staff of each commander, as noted in R 7704 and 6434 referred to above, however, it is my desire that no such permanent transfers be made until 30 days after the arrival of the respective new commanders in each theater. Copies of orders issued will be sent to the War Department. In no event should such transfers exceed 4 or 5 at one time and every effort should be made to minimize such transfers.

Historical Artifacts: We are looking for photos, documents and other types of artifacts including uniforms and gear of the 15th Air Force in World War II as well as other units and commands. We accept electronic/scans or originals of pictures and paper records. A General Order could be an award document that contains information on many servicemen. Special Orders may contain transfers or other information. Flight records, accident reports, maintenance logs, after action reports, pilot encounter reports, diaries and biorgraphies; all of these types of documents help us support or mission: preserving your history! Contact us today for instructions on sending us this material.
