A Fighter Annex to Depot Supply was established to furnish supplies peculiar to fighter aircraft. This section of the depot was located in the Caprone Aircraft Factory buildings, adjacent to the field where the main depot is located.
Both sections of the Depot supply expanded considerably during the month. At month's end procedure was being set up for the handling of all requisitions direct by Depot Supply. Completion of that phase of the supply activity was awaiting additional personnel.
Engineering section during the month was exceedingly busy. Numerous war weary B-17s and B-24s were prepared for flight back to the United States. Answering calls for assistance, a number of crews of men were placed at engineering service at various satellite fields, primarily for sheet metal work. This type of service included engine changes out in the field alone. Many battle damaged heavy bombers were repaired and returned to combat.
