HEADQUARTERS 15TH AIR DEPOT GROUP APO 520 APO No. 53, 15 August 1944.
SUBJECT: Historical Records.
TO : Commanding General, XV Air Force, APO 520, U.S. Army. (Attn: Historian) (THRU: Channels)
A general program of rebuilding was inaugurated under the supervision of the new Executive Officer. Good progress was made. A new theater was constructed in the building formerly occupied by the Chemical Depot. The old theater was being renovated for a chapel. Group Headquarters was given a sorely needed refurbishing. Construction was under way for the streamlining of the various engineering shops in the hangars. Officers' quarters were being made more comfortable by means of plastering of bomb holes and a coat of white wash.
During the month Depot Supply took an active part in a number of special projects for which commendation was received from higher headquarters.
Engineering was working to capacity with a new peak reached in number of planes in the depot for repair. Work on a total of thirty five planes was completed during the month. The various shops operated to good advantage, their output being very satisfactory.
For the Commanding Officer:
