VISITORS
Major Holder, from I.S.9, a leading authority on escape technique, was kind enough to drive down from Bari, on the 17th of October, to give the Squadron a lecture on the proper procedure if forced down in enemy territory, with special reference to various enemy areas in which the Squadron operated. His talk lasted for two hours, with a short intermission and proved to be of great interest to all combat men in the Squadron.
On October 24th the Squadron was visited by Major General Twining, with his Chief of Staff and Communications Officer. The General and his party arrived by airplane at the station. They were met by Colonel MacCloskey, who escorted them through the barracks area and headquarters offices. General Twining showed particular interest in the modifications made on the planes, for dropping operations. After spending two hours with Colonel MacCloskey and his staff, and prior to departing the following day Colonel MacCloskey issued a memorandum congratulating the personnel of the Squadron upon their appearance and the appearance of the area.
