Fifteenth Air Force Plan for Operation “FRANTIC THREE”
The following personnel only will be dispatched from Italy to Russia by combat aircraft:
31st Fighter Group – 48 Officers.
82nd Fighter Group – 72 Officers.
There have been dispatched by MATS the following staff and maintenance personnel. No others will be dispatched.
306th Wing - 37 P-38 Mechanics
1 P-38 Civilian Technician.
2 Engineering Officers.
2 Armament Officers.
3 Intelligence Officers.
1 Communications Officer.
15th Air Force - 1 Ordnance Specialist.
1 Air Corps Supply Officer.
1 Intelligence Officer.
Flying Clothing – No flying clothing will be carried other than that which is worn on the trip.
Flying clothing will be worn only when flying.
Other Clothing and Equipment – Pilots will carry their personal clothing and equipment with them in their aircraft and will carry sufficient clothing and toilet articles to present a dressy appearance at all times. No mess gear or other field equipment need be carried. All personnel will be equipped with one can of QM insecticide or a suitable substitute therefor.
Uniform will be – Flight cap, Regulation Summer Field Jacket, and Trousers, Cotton, Khaki.
Task Force Commander will report to Fifteenth Air Force all personnel missing in action. Fifteenth Air Force will then report according to theatre S.O.P. When an aircraft is reported missing in action, both the serial number of the aircraft and the name of the pilot will be reported.
Wounded and killed in action will be reported by EBC, USSTAF to Fifteenth Air Force who will then report according to theatre S.O.P.
Progress reports on wounded in action will be reported by Eastern Base Command, USSTAF, to Fifteenth Air Force who will then report progress according to theatre S.O.P.

We accept electronic/scans or originals of pictures and paper records. A General Order could be an award document that contains information on many servicemen. Special Orders may contain transfers or other information. Flight records, accident reports, maintenance logs, after action reports, pilot encounter reports, diaries and biorgraphies; all of these types of documents help us support or mission: preserving your history!
